In Kevin Smith's fantasia, there is a 13th Apostle: the disgruntled and outspoken Rufus, played by Chris Rock. A rising comic star, Rock made his feature film debut in "Beverly Hills Cop II" with Eddie Murphy. He went on to write, produce and star in the rap comedy "CB4" and a series of memorable roles in the romantic comedy "Boomerang," Mario Van Peebles' "Panthers" and "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!" for director Keenan Ivory Wayans. Rock's vocal talents are featured in the recent Eddie Murphy hit "Dr. Doolittle" and he recently appeared in Richard Donner's "Lethal Weapon 4."

In addition to his career on the big screen, Rock is known for his scathingly funny stand-up routines which were brought to a wide audience attention when he became part of the casts of "Saturday Night Live" and "In Living Color."

Currently, Rock hosts the Cable ACE Award-winning "The Chris Rock Show" on HBO. In 1997, he received two Emmy Awards for his HBO special "Bring The Pain" and his HBO special "Big Ass Jokes" garnered Rock another Cable ACE Award.

Rock's recent activities include appearing on Comedy Central's "Politically Incorrect," hosting the MTV Video Music Awards, recording the Grammy-nominated CD "Roll With the New" and writing the New York Times best-selling book Rock This.
