George Carlin appears as Cardinal Glick, founder of the movement Catholicism Wow, who unwittingly opens up a celestial loophole that could end the human race. A leading American comic, Carlin began his career in 19
56 at the age of 19, working for a Boston radio station. Since then, his work has encompassed movies, television, radio, record albums, books and comedy clubs across the nation.
Carlin made memorable comic appearances in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and the sequel "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey." His other film credits include such hit comedies as "Car Wash," "Outrageous Fortune" and "Americathon." He also appeared in Barbra
Streisand's drama "The Prince of Tides."
Carlin's extensive television credits include "The Merv Griffin Show," "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Mike Douglas Show" and "The Tonight Show," among many others. His comedic talents were featured in his own series "The George Carlin Show," as well as the
series "Justin Case." His stand-up specials include HBO's "On Location With George Carlin at USC" and "Carlin at Carnegie." "Doin It Again" won Carlin his first CableAce Award and his performance in "Jammin' in New York" garnered a second CableAce and
an Emmy nomination. The actor earned two additional Emmy nominations in the critically acclaimed children's show "Shining Time Station."
Carlin's recording career includes such albums as the Grammy-winning "FM & AM," "Take-Offs and Put-Ons" and the double CD "George Carlin: Classic Gold." On the publishing front, Carlin has written two critically praised books: Brain Droppings, which
spent 18 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list, and Sometimes a Little Brain Damage Can Help.
Carlin continues to perform some 150 dates a year throughout the country.
